LSFA's "V.I.P." Stipend Donations

The LSFA supports our volunteer fire-service members by offering a stipend for those who attend advanced training through the National Fire Academy’s Volunteer Incentive Program (V.I.P.). Each year up to ten members may receive a $125 stipend, in addition to any offered by the Louisiana Fire Chiefs Association.

The LSFA supports our volunteer fire-service members by offering a stipend for those who attend advanced training through the National Fire Academy’s Volunteer Incentive Program (V.I.P.). Each year up to ten members may receive a $125 stipend, in addition to any offered by the Louisiana Fire Chiefs Association.

Eligibility & Award Details:

  • Stipend amount: $125.00 for up to 10 members annually.

  • Available to members who attend a course in the National Fire Academy Volunteer Incentive Program (V.I.P.).

  • Limit of one stipend per member, per year.

  • Application must include a letter of acceptance from the National Fire Academy.

  • After returning from the Academy, a copy of the Certificate of Completion must be sent to the LSFA Treasurer; if not submitted, the stipend must be returned.

  • The stipend is available for courses at any approved V.I.P. site in the United States.

  • If you apply for a second-semester course (or another course) after not being accepted initially, you must submit a new application - applications are not carried over.

  • Completed applications must be submitted during the open enrollment period.
