The Louisiana State Firemen’s Association (LSFA), in partnership with Special Risk Insurance, supports Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) readiness by offering tuition-free training opportunities to eligible LSFA members. Through the Lynda Vince CISM Memorial Fund, members can receive free tuition for designated CISM training sessions held annually across Louisiana.
Program Overview & Eligibility Requirements:
The Louisiana State Firemen’s Association and Special Risk Insurance will host a minimum of two (2) CISM Training Sessions each year within the State of Louisiana.
One training session will be held in the spring, and the other will take place in the fall after the Annual Conference.
The first ten (10) registrants for each class will attend the training session at no cost for tuition, with the exception of travel, lodging, and meals, which remain the attendee’s responsibility.
Registration for all classes will be available through the LSFA Membership Portal at www.lsfa.net.
Members attending the class must be a member in good standing with LSFA.
Each member receiving free class attendance must agree to serve on the LSFA CISM Team for a period of two years: This commitment includes being available at a moment’s noticeto activate for a CISM Debriefing or Defusing when called upon.
